From humble beginnings, HIGH fitness has gone from a single class in a community center to a subscription business with over 2300 instructors in 350 cities and over 500,000 participants annually. Emily Nelson and Amber Zenith have filled a niche in the fitness industry that the industry itself didn’t realize was missing until HIGH hit the market. They took old school aerobics, added modern fitness techniques and created an inclusive culture which has resulted in a fitness movement and subscription business that has moms and professionals alike addicted to fitness. These 2 moms, with no business background or web savvy skills, self-funded an ecommerce business without a single loan. HIGH (as the regulars call it) was funded entirely with Emily and Amber teaching classes to pay for the start-up expenses. They sacrificed their role as traditional moms to devote their lives to traveling and working full-time to pursue this dream. People questioned their credentials, style of branding, and marketing approach, because it didn’t fall into a traditional mold of fitness, and advised them on numerous occasions to conform and choose a less risky name. They stuck to their guns and listened to their intuition, resulting in a dynamic, hip, and relatable brand that has thousands of handles and hashtags. Using social media as its only marketing tool, HIGH fitness has become a nationally recognized brand with many notable partnerships, thousands of Instagram followers, and participants from all across the globe. Emily and Amber have taken their passion and dream and turned it into a lucrative business and inspiring success story!
